Demitido, divorciado e com a conta bancária zerada, Bunta (Oizumi Yo), um homem de meia-idade, vê sua vida em frangalhos. Um dia, ele faz uma entrevista para uma empresa misteriosa e descobre que terá que se tornar alguém com poderes sobrenaturais para salvar o mundo. Ele é designado para o dormitório dos funcionários, mas de repente se vê vivendo com uma estranha (Miyazaki Aoi) como um "casal". Mais bizarro ainda, a designação vem com uma condição ridícula: "Você está proibido de se apaixonar por qualquer pessoa". Assim, Bunta é forçado a assumir o destino do mundo, embarcando em uma comédia romântica de fantasia absurda, porém comovente.
